Bristol Pound app for iPhone and iPad

This is the OFFICIAL App of Bristol Pound. Its provided by Bristol Pound Community Interest Company.

The App makes it quicker and easier to make TXT2PAY payments in Bristol Pounds. The payment is still made by sending a SMS for which normal network charges apply. There is no charge for using the app itself. Services may be affected by phone signal and functionality.

The payment service in this Bristol Pound App is only available to Bristol Pound account holders at Bristol Credit Union. Bristol Credit Union is responsible for all Bristol Pound accounts and electronic payments.


The Bristol Pound is the UK’s first city wide local currency, the first to have electronic accounts managed by a regulated financial institution, and the first that can be used to pay some local taxes. It is run as a partnership between the Bristol Pound Community Interest Company and Bristol Credit Union. It is a not-for-profit social enterprise.

- Send TXT2PAY message: simplifies the current TXT2PAY process and new feature can save your time on composing the SMS.

- Find Trader by GPS location: utilises the location service function in your smart phone to present you a list of the nearby local businesses in partnership with Bristol Pound.

- Manage consumption history: allow you to visualize the breakdown of your transactions by using Bristol pounds and demonstrate how much you have contributed to local business.
